Now where did I put that pattern? ...

My mom has admired Inspiration by Rosewood Manor for many years and is always asking if I would stitch it up for her.  We do a little bit of trading, you see.  She quilts (and blogs), and I stitch.  So I get quilts from her and I try hard to make pretty things for her.  Anyway, I bought the pattern so I could stitch Inspiration up for her for Christmas before she bought all the supplies for Crabby All Year.  I periodically get my patterns out and dream over them for a while before putting them away again.  This week I had Inspiration out, and then it disappeared.

I searched every where for that thing!  I looked in the craft room/spare bedroom on all the shelves of the bookcase and in the storage bins where I keep my patterns and supplies.  I looked on and under the sofa and occasional chair in front of the TV.  I looked upstairs in the office disaster.  I looked in my bedroom, on the kitchen table, in the kitchen, on top of the fridge, inside all my cupboards in the kitchen and bathrooms.  I even looked in the utility closet and in the Christmas stuff that is stored under the stairs.  No pattern.

So I sat on the sofa to think about things a little bit.  As I sat and though, I started going through a stack of magazines and catalogs that had collected on the occasional chair.  Some got put away in their respective spots in the craft room, others got thrown away.  Then it dawned on me... I was doing the same thing a few days ago when I last saw the pattern.  I was putting a pile of 'to trash' magazines on top of it.  I remember thinking at the time, "I'd better be careful to not throw the pattern out."  So I got up with my pile of stuff to throw away and went over to the kitchen trash and started to dig.  Sure enough, there was my Inspiration pattern, tucked between a catalog and a magazine that I had deemed I didn't need any more.  And thus protected it hadn't gotten anything on it.

Oy vey.  I'd loose my head if it weren't attached.

I've spent a good deal of time working on Crabby All Year this week.  About four hours during the Super Bowl and another two hours on each of Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  I suspect that I'm a slow stitcher.  I've also come to the conclusion that I need to spend more time on this so that I can get it done in time for Christmas!  It's February and I haven't got the January block done.  I figure to be in good shape for Christmas I should have the March block done by the end of the month.  Eeeeeeeeeeee!  I'm so far behind.  But hey, here's a pic of the progress so far.

I wonder how much it would cost to ask Raise the Roof to chart "Quilt 2 Survive" for me to put at the bottom of the chart.  It's Mom's slogan, of sorts, and a little bit appropriate.  I don't dare try to chart something like that myself as I'm a bit of a disaster for it.  And it would make it truly one of a kind for my Mom.

Glad you found your pattern, that one will certainly keep you busy!

You could easily add "Quilt 2 Survive" just before adding your initials at the bottom, maybe I can help you? At least some of the months look like they don't have as much to stitch, so hopefully you'll get it done quicker!

Good progress on Crabby! That pile of snow is a booger but the block goes quick once the snow is done!
